Ami.e.s de Poche - Pocket Buddies

C'est en 2013 que le club est né malgré qu'il n'était pas officiellement appelé sous ce nom cette année-là.  Nancy Stevens, fondatrice de Kenyahelp, une grande amie de Mme Jacynthe Aubut, partait pour l'Afrique.  Mme Jacynthe a pris la décision de faire des bracelets Rainbow Loom pour les enfants de ce pays puisqu'ils étaient très populaires à l'époque.  Lorsque Nancy Stevens est retournée au Canada, elle a envoyé des photos à l'école des enfants qui ont reçus les bracelets.  Le grand sourire de ces petits Kenyans ont été le coup de coeur pour Mme Jacynthe.   Du coup, émue par ce qu'un petit cadeau peut apporter à des jeunes qui n'ont absolument rien, Mme Jacynthe pris la décision de faire plus.  Et c'est ainsi que le Club humanitaire a ouvert ses portes l'année suivante en ayant en tête un projet de plus grande envergure:  Les Ami(e)s de Poche!

It was in 2013 that the club was born despite being not officially called that year. Nancy Stevens, the founder of Kenyahelp, and a great friend of Mrs. Jacynthe Aubut, left for Africa. Ms. Jacynthe made the decision to make Rainbow Loom bracelets for the children of this country since they were very popular at the time. When Nancy Stevens returned to Canada, she sent pictures to the school of the children who received the bracelets. The big smile of the young Kenyans made a big impact on Mrs. Jacynthe. So, moved by what a small gift can bring to young people who have absolutely nothing, Ms. Jacynthe made the decision to do more. And so the Humanitarian Club opened its doors the following year with a bigger project in mind: The Pocket Buddies!
